Google Chrome is one of the most popular mobile browsers and it even comes pre-installed on a lot of Android smartphones and tablets. To delete the browsing history, open the Chrome browser app, tap the Overflow button (three dots at the top right corner), and select Settings. Scroll down and tap Privacy and security, it should open another sub-menu that has “Clear browsing data” at the top. The Clear browsing data sub-menu has two options - Basic and Advanced. Both allow you to clear just the browsing history but also offer other options such as deleting cookies, cached images, or saved passwords. There is also an option to choose a time range that includes browsing history from the last hour, last 24 hours, or even of all time. Choose the data to delete and tap the Clear data button at the bottom of the screen.

Deleting Browser History On Samsung Internet And Firefox

Another popular browser is Samsung Internet which ships with Samsung phones and tablets, and the procedure for clearing the browsing history is a bit different. The first step is to open the browser, tap the Menu button (three horizontal lines), select Settings, tap Personal data, and the Delete browsing data. Just like Google Chrome, there is the option to choose which data to delete. Select your preference, and tap the Delete data button at the bottom of the screen.

It is not unusual for people to download a different browser, and a popular alternative web browser for Android users is Mozilla's Firefox. According to stats on the Play Store, the app has been downloaded more than 100 million times. Those who use this browser can delete their browsing history by opening the app, tapping the three dots at the top corner or bottom depending on user customization, and selecting Settings. Choose Delete browsing data and tick the type of data to delete. Proceed to delete by tapping the Delete browsing data button.

Firefox includes an option that allows the browser to automatically delete browsing data when they exit the app. To turn this feature on, proceed to the browser's settings as described above. Scroll down to the menu that says “Delete browsing data on quit” and select it, switch the toggle to the right by tapping it, and choose the items that should be wiped after every exit.
